He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. and Ida Mahloch Michels. He was married to Ellen Hale, September 18, 1948 in Manitowoc.

He was a cheesemaker for 17 years and the past 10 years was a partner in the G. H. M. Construction Co. A graduate of Brillion High School and a World War II veteran, a member of the Peace United Church of Christ of Brillion.

A member of the Becker Blodern American Legion Post No. 126, a member of the Brillion Lions Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the Brillion Conservation Club. Survivors are his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Julianne, Simpson College, Indanola, Iowa; a son, James, Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa; his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Jeannette) Bubolz, Mrs. Elroy (Lucille) Bubolz, both of Milwaukee; a brother preceded him in death.

Kenosha. February 11, 1914 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Kasten. He was employed at the MacWhyte' Company, Kenosha for five years retiring in 1957. K-C Lays Off 45 At Neenah Mill NEENAH Kimberly-Clark Corp. will lay off 45 production workers at its Neenah Mill on Jan. 24.

Mill manager James G. Grosklaus said the reduction is due to lower-than-anticipated demand for some of the mill's products. He said that it will affect employes at mill's Lakeview division in the Town of Menasha and the Badger Globe division in Neenah. Total employment of both is about 1,300. The latest reduction brings the total layoffs at the Neenah mill to 285 since March 1, 1970.
