What did Love Heart used to say? ›

These messages are meant to convey sentiments of love and friendship. Love Hearts feature a wide range of simple two-worded messages. Message of affection include "Love You", "True Lips", "First Love", "My Angel", "Say Yes", "Hold Me" and "Kiss Me".

These sweets first appeared in packs in September 2008. In 2022, Swizzels temporarily rebranded Love Hearts as Kind Hearts as a collaboration with YoungMinds, a UK charity organistaion.

However, Love Heart sweets are not Kosher and they are not Halal. So if you are following religious restrictions on what to eat like Kosher or Halal, Love Heart sweets are not suitable for you.

It is typically used to represent recovering or healing (mending) from heartbreak or emotional pain.

Sweethearts (also known as conversation hearts) are small heart-shaped sugar candies sold around Valentine's Day. Each heart is printed with a message such as "Be Mine", "Kiss Me", "Call Me", "Let's Get Busy", or "Miss You".

And in fizzy sweets, it is usually the combination of a carbonate and an acid, and the way that they react to the saliva in your mouth that creates the unique sensation. At Swizzels, we favour Malic Acid, Stearic Acid, and Sodium Bicarbonate. The acid adds the tang and while the carbonate adds the tingle.

Are fizzers and Love Hearts the same thing? ›

A: Yes, they do have the same flavor with one subtle difference....the Love Hearts are not as fizzy tasting. They are a bit weaker in that regard as they are a larger candy than the original fizzers. Also the Fizzers are not the same colors as they once were several years ago.

The candy was often used for weddings since the candies had witty saying such as: "Married in pink, he will take a drink", "Married in White, you have chosen right", and "Married in Satin, Love will not be lasting". The candies were originally in the shape of a seashell and were large enough to carry a longer message.

The original candies had messages like, "Who Me, Luv U, Be Good, Kiss Me and Sweet Talk." Fast forward to present day and you can find hearts with sayings like, "Wicked Cool, Txt Me, Tweet, #Love, Wink Wink, Ur Hot, Call Me and even Marry Me." Those sayings not good enough?

But around the turn of the 20th century, the candies' shape shifted to a heart. They also became smaller and simpler. And the newly abbreviated romantic phrases aged a lot better than requests for hair. Some of the original conversation heart sayings include Marry Me, Luv U, Be Good, Kiss Me, and Sweet Talk.

Created by the Necco Company in the era of President Johnson, these candies are anything but stale. The most popular phrases are "Kiss Me", "Marry Me" and "Be True."
