What is the special move for Dipplin? ›

One move that Dipplin can learn, Syrup Bomb, is a Grass-type special attack that causes an explosion of syrup. This move coats the target in syrup and causes its Speed stat to lower each turn for three turns.

This is because Dipplin evolves into Hydrapple by leveling up after knowing the move Dragon Cheer. It does not learn this move naturally and must be taught it via TM. The only way to get this TM is to defeat Drayton, the BB League Elite Four member in the Polar Biome.

​Dipplin's Supersweet Syrup Ability appears for the first time in Part 1: The Teal Mask. When Dipplin first enters battle, the scent of its syrup spreads across the battlefield, lowering the evasiveness of opposing Pokémon.

The best ability for Dipplin in Tera Raid Battles is Supersweet Syrup. This allows that it to reliably hit evasive Pokemon or to effectively use inaccurate moves.

The fact that Dipplin is affected by Eviolite implies that it is intended to be able to evolve once more, despite there being no official mention of such an evolution at this time. Because of this, it seems most likely that Dipplin will soon be able to evolve into a new form as part of The Indigo Disk DLC.

After teaching Dragon Cheer to your Dipplin, just level it and it'll evolve into Hydrapple. If you haven't unlocked the BB League Elite Four matches yet, just keep playing The Indigo Disk's storyline and it won't take long until you're able to battle the Elite Four.

Unfortunately, Dipplin does not learn Dragon Cheer as a level up move, so the only way to learn it is via TM. To get the Dragon Cheer TM, you have to complete Drayton's Elite Four trial, and defeat him in battle. After the battle, he will reward you with TM 226, Dragon Cheer.

Poor Speed is another sticking point, forcing Dipplin to take hits before it does anything, and making its good bulk less impressive. A quadruple ice weakness tops Dipplin's woes, giving an easy way to bypass its great defenses.

Best Tera Type: Fire

Fire is the best Tera Type for this build as it can give Dipplin a resistance to Ice, Bug, and Fire. This also allows Dipplin to take neutral damage from Poison and Flying-type attacks.

Syrup Bomb (Japanese: みずあめボム Mizuame Bomb) is a damage-dealing Grass-type move introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature move of Dipplin and one of the signature moves of Hydrapple.
