- I love the way you say my name. You say it in a way that makes me feel like I belong to you. Like I am yours, and you are mine. And I love that so much, I think about it on some days and I can’t believe that this is my life, I can’t believe that I belong to someone as beautiful as you are, someone who radiates so much love and happiness that it rubs off on people around him, including me. I love the way you say my name because it reminds me and reassures me of my space in your life — one only I occupy.
- I love the look on your face when you talk about the things you love. I love how nerdy you are and how shy you get when I express how nerdy you are, and then you go, “I’m not a nerd,” right before you tell me another fun fact that I am always dying to hear. I love how excited you get when you say these things and how excited you always are to share them with me. I cherish every moment I get to be a sounding board for you. It fills me with great joy to be right in front of those beautiful eyes of yours, to watch you speak, to watch you emphasize on words you find interesting, and laugh at your own jokes before you say them.
- I love that you always want to listen to me. I love that you want to know what’s on my mind even when I do not have the words for them yet. I love when you say “Just tell me how you feel right now. Put it whichever way it comes to you,” when I am struggling to give my feelings names. I love that you are patient with me in those moments. I love that you’re curious enough about me to want to know, to want to wait for me to make out the words and tell them to you in their rawest forms. I love that you don’t judge me when I eventually say them and they don’t make sense to me. I love that they make sense to you. I love that you help me articulate my thoughts, but not in a way that makes me feel stupid, rather in a way that makes me feel like we exist alone together in our own world, and my feelings are your feelings.
- I love your face. God, I really love your face. If I could stare at it all day, I would. I wouldn’t mind FaceTiming you every minute of the day, if I could. If we didn’t have to work, if life didn't move, I will stay with you in this moment in time and just look at your perfectly crafted face. Do you know that sometimes, when you’re asleep, I stay awake a little longer just to stare at you? I try to steal more moments of the day to simply watch you. To stare at those lips, like it’s my first time. To look intently at that perfect jaw line, like it’s my first time. Oh, they could pay me to stare at you all day, and I’d tell them to keep the money because I’d do it for free. Your face is enough reward for me.
- I love your empathy. I love that I am learning, through you, to be more empathetic. To understand people’s emotions and thoughts in every situation. I love how you do not assume when it comes to the actions of others. I love that you give people the benefit of the doubt. I love that you teach me to be more trusting, to be less expectant of negative outcomes. I love that you teach me that there is beauty in the world, that there are good people in the world. But you see, I do not struggle with the understanding that there are good people in the world because you are good and you are right in front of me. You are the best of them all.
- I love your laughter. You might wonder why I try so often to make you laugh. Of course, I am funny and you never hide that fact, but there’s a reason why I always want to be funny. There is a reason why my humor is more than just an act, but an intention. It is because the sound of your laughter reminds me of good times and moments I would cherish forever. I am not just funny because I am funny. If the world wants to take away my sense of humor, I would beg it to not take away this one thing from me. I would tell it, Not today. Not ever.
- I love your warmth. I love how I melt into you when I’m with you. I love how fragile I get with you because I feel myself being carried by you, because I feel safe in your arms. I love that when I’m with you, I am surrounded by a comfort so deeply rooted, that it does not matter what time of day it is, or what kind of day we’ve had, I feel safe still. I love that your warmth encompasses me in a way that makes me feel like I am home, like I have reached my place of rest.
- I love how you take care of things. Like your plants, your friends, your family, your home, your heart, my heart. I love that you make the conscious effort to water the things and people in your life. I love that you deeply care, and you look out for growth in everything around you. I love that you care for the things and people around you, simply because you do — it is not a performance or an act. You are not trying to prove your goodness to people, you are not showing them how you care for things or seek validation from it. You care simply because you do. You care because your heart is too big and healthy to hold any form of tumultuous emotions, it is too delicate to hold anything that doesn’t radiate love.
- I love your consideration. I love that you consider me, that you think about me, that you want to always know how I feel about things. I love that you do not pressure me to be anyone but myself. I love that you want to know how certain actions might affect me, you envision how I would react to certain things and you never put me in a spot to feel ashamed or not listened to. I love that with every question, every confirmation, every need for feedback, I am assured of your love for me.
- I love that you like me. I know you love me, but knowing that you like me makes me feel like I belong in your world, makes me feel precious and light. I do not have to overextend myself to be worthy of your love, I do not feel like I constantly need to be giving out parts of myself for you to know that you mean the world to me. I love that you like me as a human being first, before loving me as your lover. I love that you see me as a friend you always want to be around. I love that I don’t feel like a burden to you. You make me feel so likable, and I don’t think nothing else warms my heart like this does. I feel constantly loved and liked by you. It’s a blessing. You’re my blessing.
